Student Success Statement Howard Cosell

Student Success Statement
"What's right isn't always popular. What's popular isn't always right."
Howard Cosell
Reflection: This quote is very true because now in days waiting to have intercourse with your partner until after marriage is not popular, but it is right thing to do and the safest. Having intercourse with your partner before marriage is wrong and lead to many heartaches and regrets, but it's popular now in days. There are also many other reasons that we can prove this quote to be true and I really like this quote. So instead of following what the popular things is or if it is not , it is better to choose the right.

Student Success Statement
"I hated poverty. Poverty is more of a choice than anything else, and I can change that (poverty). It depends upon how hard I want to work, and I decided that I would change that."
Dr. Ben Carson

Reflection: I say that yes sometimes poverty is a choice. For example, if you dont want to work, if you don't want a career, if you are lazy, etc are reasons why people are stuck and still in poverty, but there are people that have no choice. Kids in Africa and South America are in deep poverty. They have to work in a very young age to help their families with food and other necessities, so they are unable to get a career or go to school. They can't do anything about it because they have no choice, they can't leave there family when they need to be there for them.

Student Success Statement Thomas S. Monson

Student Success Statement
"You can't be right by doing wrong; you can't be wrong by doing right."
Thomas S. Monson
Reflection: This quote is true because when you are stealing or doing something bad, then you are not doing something right by doing that wrong thing and if you are doing something such as helping someone in need or something like that, then you cant be doing something wrong by doing something right.

Student Success Statement Dean Smith

Student Success Statement
"I wasn't trying to leave a legacy. I was trying to do what was right."
Dean Smith
Reflection: In this quote, Dean Smith is trying to say that his goal was to do was right. He didn't cheat  or used players that were not able to legally play. He did what was right and because of that, he left a legacy, even though that wasn't his goal. He was trying to tell us that it doesn't matter if we win or lose, but the fact that what we are doing is right has a better and more satisfying feeling.
