Student Success Statement William Penn

Student Success Statement
"Right is Right even if everyone is against it. Wrong is Wrong even if everyone is for it."
William Penn
Reflection: This quote is very powerful because it really is true.  A lot of people might be doing something that is wrong like killing an innocent person and everyone might be for it but that doesn't make it right to do. Also if you are doing something good such as studying and everyone is against it, it shouldn't matter what they say because you are doing what's right. Right will always be right and wrong will always be wrong no matter how much humans what to change it, it's not possible nor will it ever be.

Yoga Therapist

Yoga Therapist
Duties and Responsibilities: The main priority of a yoga therapist is to keep their clients happy, flexible, and safe. They also have to ensure that all poses are being done correctly and the clients don’t get themselves injured. This requires the therapist to have a close eye on all his/her clients and concise instruction. They also have to recognize their clients’ abilities.
Salary: The average annual salary for a yoga therapist is $36,900.
Education: To become a yoga therapist the person need a 200-hour basic certification program to graduate and teach yoga in many group settings as therapist. If the person wants to have a professional certification it takes 500 hours but allows the person to open there own private practice.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be one because I really am not flexible and also I don’t want to be the cause of a person getting injured because they didn't know how to do the pose.

Student Success Statement Peter Vidmar

Student Success Statement
"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now. Write down what you want most and see it often."
Peter Vidmar
Reflection: This quote relates to what we are doing my my new media class. In my new media class, we have written 100+ goals on our life-planning notebooks so we could read them everyday for 2 minutes because it makes a difference. When we read them often we are going to try to achieve them and they will become real to us. We shouldn't sacrifice something we worked so hard for and want the most for something that we want now and just gives us a little bit of pleasure. That's why we have to write down what we want the most.

Student Success Statement Proverbs 22:1

Student Success Statement
"A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches."
Proverbs 22:1
Reflection: What the quote is trying to say is that even though you have great riches that doesn't mean you have a great name. You could be rich and have a bad name or be poor and have a good name It all depends on how you act and having a good name is better than great riches because a lot more people will like you and you'll be able to have real friends.

Student Success Statement Mike Kryzyzewski

Student Success Statement
" A good name is better than anything you can achieve in this life."
Coach K
Mike Kryzyzewski
Reflection: A lot of people now in days don't have a good name. Some are known for the bad crimes they have committed or the way their attitude is like. You might achieve awards and trophies and a lot of other stuff but if you don't have a good name what good does it do to have all those accomplishments. You could have a good name if you choose the right, be kind, humble, spiritual, friendly and many more qualities.

Columbus Day

Columbus Day

Christopher Columbus was not born rich instead he was the son of a wool merchant. He was able to get a job in a merchant ship, which was attacked leading to the sinking of the boat. Columbus survived and floated back home where he decided study mathematics, astronomy, cartography and navigation. He wanted to go in his first voyage because he wanted riches and fame.   In 1492, Christopher Columbus sailed in the Atlantic Ocean, where he stumbled upon the Americas. He wanted to find a faster route to Asia instead of going around Africa. In the same year, he landed in the Bahamas. Because of the trips he took to the Americas he was able to pave the way for European Exploration. This led to many Europeans and other people going to the Americas to try to explore what they called the “New World.” No, Christopher Columbus did not “discover” the Americas because there is evidence that people years before him, had traveled there. Also there were many people already living there at the time. But as said before because of his travels he was able to pave the way for exploration and exploitation. People celebrate Columbus Day because they are celebrating Columbus’s voyage during the colonial period. Others celebrate it because of his landing to the “New World”.  And others celebrate it because of their heritage. They are also many others that celebrate it for different reasons, but there are some that want the holiday to be taken out.
Reflection: My thoughts and feeling about this is that I don't celebrate any holidays so holidays like this one are not really important to me.

Student Success Statement Noemi Trigueros

Student Success Statement
" A CTR champion is a person who makes a great human out of himself."
Noemi Trigueros
Reflection: This quote is trying to say that a person that is always or most of the time choosing the right makes the person a great human. A CTR champion is a champion that has achieved doing the right thing and not choosing the wrong. We might mistakes but that's okay we are all imperfect but we have to try to make good decisions and try to do what's right.
