Current Event

Current Event
A current event that has been happening is that  the identity of the man that has been shown in the videos of the beheading of many people which we had called 'Jihadi John', has been identified as Mohammed Emwazi. It was confirmed yesterday by two U.S officials and two U.S congressional sources.  It is believed that Mohammed traveled to Syria in 2012 and later joined ISIS there. London and British officials still doubt if that is his identity and are not 100% sure it's him. Still, people are asking what pushed them to join ISIS and why.

Student Success Statement N. Eldon Tanner

Student Success Statement
"The true way to honor the past is to improve upon it."
N.Eldon Tanner
Reflection: What this quote is trying to tell us is that we have move on and honor the past but we can't do that if we stick into living in the past and keep making the same mistakes. This why Mr. Tanner is telling us that we have to improve upon our past so that we won't make the same mistakes and so we can leave the past where it should be and that's in the past.

"It makes a difference to all eternity whether we do right or wrong today."

James Freeman Clark

Reflection: What this quote is saying is that the decisions we take today will  impact in our lives later in the future whether we do right or wrong. For example, if a teenager chose to do wrong and steal and smoke, it is possible that later in his or hers life they will go to jail or get lung cancer. But if you chose to do right you could be successful and live a healthy life.

"The best way to predict your future is to create it."
Charles Ketterer

Reflection: Today in my new media class we have a notebook with 100+ goals and in order to achieve and create a future that we want we have to follow these goals. We can't predict the future at all but we can predict how our lives are going to turn out using the goals and ideas we want to accomplish.
