Student Success Statement Boyd K. Packer

Student Success Statement
" The more obedient we are, the more freedom we have."
Boyd K. Packer
Reflection: I think this quote this quote is true because we are obedient to the law, we won't be stuck in jail where we are not able to see our family. Also we have to be obedient so we don't get in trouble and have the risk of losing our freedom. And if we are more obedient to laws of the nation to our parents we will be able to have as much freedom as we want.

9/11 Memorial

9/11 Memorial
9/11, one of the saddest day in America. A day we will never forget. A day in which everything began normally but it ended so tragically. Many loved ones were lost.  Many families were tore apart by this one day. 19 hijackers, 4 planes, 3 buildings hit, 1 field filled with airplane parts, and about 3,000 people died in those attacks.  American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, two of the four airplanes, were crashed in to the North and South towers of the World Trade Center. The first aircraft to crash into one of the buildings was American Airlines Flight 11 which crashed into the North tower at 8:46 a.m.  United Airlines Flight 175 crashed the South tower at 9:03 a.m. American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the Pentagon at 9:37 a.m. The last aircraft United Airlines Flight 93 did not hit a building but while its passengers were trying to seize control of the airplane again; it crashed into a field near Shankville, Pennsyvania at 10:03 a.m. All these attacks cost the lives of so many that until this day we still remember them.  I remember that the first time I heard of 9/11 or when I was fully able to understand it was when I was 8. My sister had rented a movie about it and we all went to see it. I cried because it was horrible seeing what had happened in those moments.

Reflection:  Seeing people throwing themselves of buildings, people crying filled with blood and  dirt, seeing the plane crashing into the building and imagining the thoughts of all those people in the planes and towers  when they are about to die, it’s just sad you wish there was something you could have done but you can’t. I cry every time I see a documentary or movie about because it’s just tragic seeing how 3,000 people died. It’s horrible what those 19 hijackers did but that didn't mean the U.S should have gone and killed many Iranians in the war because of these 19 did. 9/11 is a day we should remember and keep in mind because you never know what might happen in the next second of your life.

Student Success Statement Boyd K. Packer

Student Success Statement
"The key to freedom is obedience."
Boyd K. Packer
Reflection: This quote is true because every government, for example the U.S. government, has a set of laws that you need to follow. In order for you to be free you have to follow those laws and obey them. This is where obedience falls in because if you don't follow the laws and obey them, then you will be taken to jail and get arrested which means you are no longer free.

Obedience

Obedience
Definition: Obedience is compliance with an order, request, and law, or submission to another's authority.
Words That Mean The Same Are:
  • compliance
  • agreement
  • submission
  • respect
Examples of Obedience:
  1. A dog that sits when his owner tells him to.
  2. When a mom tells her daughter to pick up the toys she was playing with.
  3. A person that does God's will because he wants to obey God.

Audiologist

Audiologist
Duties and Responsibilities: They conduct and understand a variety of tests such as bone and air conduction, speech reception, and discrimination tests. This helps them figure out the form and degree of hearing impairment, site of damage, and effects on understanding and communication. They also assess test results in relation to the behavioral, social, educational, and medical information of the patient.
Salary: The annual median for an audiologist is $73,836.
Education: They need to have a master’s degree and a nine month fellowship and 0-2 years of experience.

Reflection: I think that I would like to be one because it doesn't take a long time to be one and it looks like something I would like to do. Many of the things they do I would like to learn like trying to see what causes a person to become the way they are and how does that affect them.

Student Success Statement John Wooden

Student Success Statement
"What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player."
John Wooden
Reflection: What John Wooden said was true because you could be the best basketball player of all times but what good does that do if your attitude and personality are just horrible and you are mean and nasty. No matter how much it important being a basketball player to a person, their way of being is far more important because people wont want to play basketball with them if his personality and attitude is like that and they would likely want to stay away from them.
