Responsibilities: Some duties and responsibilities that dental assistants
have are that they have to prepare treatment room for patients by following prearranged
procedures and measures. They also have prepare patients for dental treatment
by welcoming, comforting, seating, and draping the patient, provide information
to the patient and employees, maintains a safe and clean working environment, educates
patients, helps dentist manage dental and medical emergencies, and much more
Salary: The
average annual pay for a dental assistant is from about $33,761.
Education: To
become a dental assistant you need to receive your formal education though
academic programs. It takes about nine to eleven months to complete academic
dental assistant programs but there are some schools that offer accelerated training.
Reflection: I
think I would like to be a dental assistant because it’s a job I can study for
in a short period of time after high school. After high school or before I can
take a college class and already have a job by the time I get out of high
school. Also, the pay is okay for a dental assistant.
