Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving is a holiday that is
celebrated in the U.S every fourth Thursday of November. President Abraham
Lincoln made it an official federal holiday in 1863. The first thanksgiving was
celebrated by the early pilgrims after their first harvest in the North
America. Also people say that thanksgiving was a day when all the members of
the community give thanks to god for common purposes. Even though I never
celebrated thanksgiving, I have a lot of things I’m thankful of and I don’t just
use one day to express them. I’m thankful to God because he has given us life every
day, thankful for food, thankful my family isn’t separate by divorce or death,
thankful that have friends who are like my brothers and sisters, thankful for
having the necessities I need, thankful for the teachers who care, thankful
that I’m not into drugs or getting pregnant, thankful to the people around me because some
are kind and generous, thankful that even though one person might not want
listen there is another one just waiting to do that, thankful for parents that
really care for me, thankful for sibling that even though we might fight we
still love each other, and thankful that I am still alive to say that I’m
thankful.
