Responsibilities: They combine the
imaging results of a patient’s organs, bones, and tissues with other tests’
conclusion to reach a verdict and counsel the patient about treatments or
additional testing. They also oversee
radiation in oncology or nuclear medicine.
Salary: The
average pay for a radiologist diagnostic imaging job is $61,000.
Education: To
become a diagnostic radiologist you are required to complete a 4-year bachelor’s
degree and four years of medical school followed by numerous years in residency
training in radiology. They also have to pass a licensing exam.
Reflection: This profession sounds really interesting
but I don’t think I would like to be a diagnostic radiologist. I think it’s too
many years in school studying this profession and also I don’t think I would
like that job.
