Health Science Librarian
Duties and Responsibilities: They work in a range of places
such as the library of a health organization, a pharmaceutical company, health
information centers, and medical schools. They are responsible in discovering
appropriate resources, labeling those materials so they can be found easily,
and aiding users find what they need.
Salary: The average salary for and HSL is $58,000
Education: Students have to graduate from high school. Also
they are required to have a four-year bachelor’s degree that includes courses
like science and computer science. It’s also mandatory to have a master’s
degree in library science. To become a HSL you don’t need to be certified, but
the MLA, Medical Library Association, offers certification examinations in
order to get a higher position
Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be this job
because it is too much time in school and I really just want a fast career.
