Ambulance Dispatcher

Ambulance Dispatcher
Duties and Responsibilities: They answer 911 phone calls. They figure out what type of emergency there is and the location of it. They also monitor the police and ambulance units that are rushing to the scene. They give over the phone medical instructions before the ambulance arrives. Last but not least they keep recorded of the calls they get.
Salary: Their annual is $36,300 and per hour its $17.45.
Education: Dispatchers are required to have a high school diploma. The ones that are eligible have to take a written exam and a typing test. They may also need to pass a background check, lie detector, and drugs tests. Also they may need to pass vision and hearing tests.

Reflection: I don’t think I would like to be one because they have to help people calm down when something bad is happening. They have to be under control and know what they are doing. They also have to pass a vision test that I may not pass since I can’t see very well and need glasses.
