Duties and
Responsibilities: Practitioners of oriental medicine use different methods
of acupuncture and treatment. The EMD uses oriental medicine which treats a diversity
of pains such as headaches, back pain, arthritis, and other illnesses. They do
this by identifying patterns of imbalance within body’s energy levels and
working to readjust fluids or tissues in order to keep the body balance and get
rid of pain.
Salary: $58,958
Education: To
become an EMD you need a bachelor’s degree and also become certified through
the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Reflection: I wouldn’t
want to be an EMD because they use treatment such as acupuncture, acupressure,
and more and I wouldn’t be comfortable doing that.
