Duties and Responsibilities:  Some responsibilities they have are that they have to process, preserve, gather, and report patient information for health requirements and standards in a manner reliable with the healthcare industry’s numerical coding system. They also have to have and medical records of hospital and clinic patients. They also protect the patients’ medical records to ensure that confidentiality is maintained.
Salary: The annual average salary for a health information specialist is $47,620.
Education: You are required to have a high school diploma. You also have to have a post-secondary certificate and associate’s degree in health information technology and in other courses. You also have to have a certain set of skills and qualities.

Reflection: I would like to be one because it has good pay and also I don’t have to deal with a patient’s life only their records.
